Highbridge
glass firm is short-listed for top industry award

A
Highbridge glass company has been short-listed for a top industry
award this week.
M5 Glass Centre, which opened recently in Highbridge, is part
of Cornwall Glass & Glazing Ltd, and has been shortlisted as one
of four finalists for this year's G12 National
Glass Company of the Year Award.
The business has grown hugely from its humble beginnings when
David & Heather Mitchell set up the business from home in
the 1970s, where in the early days the weighing out glazing
putty was a regular occurrence in their kitchen.
Over the subsequent thirty plus years Cornwall Glass & Glazing,
which the business is now known, has grown into a major manufacturer
of double and triple glazed sealed units, toughened glass and
other glass products.
The company currently operates 14 sites across the South West
including branches in Bristol, Yeovil and Exeter. It has close
to 200 staff and an annual turnover in excess of £10million.
Mark Mitchell, managing director of Cornwall Glass & Glazing,
says: "We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted
in the Glass Company of the Year category of the G12 Awards, this
is the highest accolade within our industry and we are up against
some global companies, it is fantastic to be competing with the
biggest and best in the business."
Mark will lead a delegation of representatives from Cornwall
Glass & Glazing when they attend the G12 Glass Industry Awards,
hosted by comedian and television presenter Patrick Kielty, in
London at the end of November.
