Police appeal for witnesses after graffiti attack in Burnham-On-Sea

-

An angry Burnham-On-Sea cafe owner launched a clean-up operation on Saturday (April 7th) after a graffiti attack in the centre of the town.

Police have appealed for witnesses after orange paint was sprayed over pavements, an electricity sub-station and waste bins next to Burnham’s town fountain in Marine Drive at around 3.30pm, as pictured.

Catherine Lee from the Coffee Corner cafe, which is located next to the busy junction of Marine Drive and Abingdon Street, cleaned up the worst of the graffiti.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s terrible that someone would do this on a busy Easter Saturday in broad daylight.”

Police were called to the scene and an appeal for eyewitnesses has been issued.

Anyone with information should contact the police by calling their non-emergency number, 101.

CCTV coverage of the busy road junction is also being studied to see if it holds the identity of the culprits.
