Police hunt for two men after distraction burglary in Highbridge

-

Police are hunting for two men who carried out a distraction burglary in Highbridge on Tuesday (June 5th).

The burglary occurred at 3.15pm in Grange Avenue when one man distracted the occupant of a home while his accomplice went upstairs and searched the rooms.

“A second occupant returned home and realised there may be someone upstairs so he went to investigate. He found the accomplice hiding in the bathroom and both men then ran off,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The men were last seen in Church Street running in the direction of Burnham-On-Sea.

It was later discovered that money had been stolen from the property.

An investigation has begun to identify the people responsible and anyone who saw the two men in the street or has any other information that might help is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
