Fourteen local groups have this week received cash hand-outs from Burnham and Highbridge Town Council.
Mayor Michael Clarke presented the cheques to representatives from each of the groups during Monday’s monthly town council meeting, as pictured.
Some of the funding has come from the town council’s own grants budget and money raised during collections at Burnham’s annual seafront fireworks display.
The groups benefiting include Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Run (£250), Highbridge & Burnham Carnival Committee (£200), Highbridge Festival of Arts (£200), Burnham Dreamscheme (£250), Burnham & Highbridge Gateway Club (£200) and the Friends in Retirement Club (£100).
The other recipients are Arthritis Care (£100), Highbridge in Bloom (£100), Burnham & Highbridge Sea Cadets (£250), Burnham United Football Club (£250), Flutation group (£50), Highbridge Dreamscheme (£250), Sedgemoor Community Partnership (£250), and BAY Centre (£500).
