Burnham-On-Sea's
Olympic torch bearer Arthur Gilbert welcomed home more than 40
fun runners during a special race at the town's Half Marathon
on Sunday.
Arthur,
91, who holds the title of the world's oldest triathlete, posed
for photos with the dozens of admiring youngsters at the end of
the event at the BASC Ground, as pictured here.
Arthur
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'm always delighted to attend
events like this which are all part of the lasting legacy of the
Olympics. It's great to see smiles on the children's faces."
The
mile-long fun run was held for younger runners whilst the serious
runners were taking part in the 13 mile half marathon.
