Horse stuck in swimming pool is rescued by fire crews
Fire
crews rescued a horse stranded in an outdoor swimming pool near
Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday morning (October 11th).
Crews
from Cheddar and Bridgwater were called to a the pool at a private
property in Wedmore shortly after 7.20am.
"People
working at the premises came across the horse, which was standing
on all fours in the water and, whilst not distressed, was skittish,"
said a spokesman.
The
boom carrying the cover of the pool was used by the fire crews
to herd the horse towards the shallow end of the pool.
"A
vet then sedated the animal and fire crews applied harnesses to
pull it out of the water and lead it to a nearby field, where
it was released unharmed."
The
owner was not in attendance and the RSPCA was called to attend.
