Bank Holiday fete in Burnham raises £900 for hospital
Wet weather led to Burnham-On-Sea's annual Bank Holiday hospital
fete being cancelled on Monday and replaced with a smaller, indoor
from the Friends of Burnham Hospital made the decision early to
cancel the traditional Manor Gardens event amid heavy rain and
a smaller indoor fete was held in Burnham's St Andrew's Church
Hall, which earned over £900.
Tony Deahl, Chairman of the Friends of Burnham Hospital told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Although the weather deterred large crowds, several hundred
people braved the elements to support the hospital. The event
made a profit of approximately £900, less than a quarter
of the normal total when the fete takes place in the Manor Gardens."

to support the town's hospital and he also thanked the large number
of volunteers who made the fete possible.
