MP Tessa Munt offers condolences after Burnham-On-Sea jetty tragedy

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has paid tribute to a four year-old boy who went missing after slipping off the town’s jetty into the sea on Sunday.

Dylan Cecil, from Kettering, fell into the water near to the Esplanade on Sunday evening at around 6pm, as reported here.

Tessa Munt told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Words are not enough in such a desperate situation. My thoughts are with Dylan’s family and I know the whole community is with them.”

“I visited the Burnham Area Rescue Boat team and met members of the Coastguard Services on Monday, and I’d like to commend the dedication, professionalism and hard work of the men and women who volunteer for our rescue services – some of whom had been searching for Dylan since 6pm on Sunday night with just an hour’s break.”

“We should also recognise the contribution of local firms, who allow the rescue service volunteers time off to do what is an essential and amazing job.”
