Jubilee mugs to be distributed to Burnham and Highbridge pupils
Over
1,300 mugs are to be distributed to schoolchildren across Burnham-On-Sea
and Highbridge this month to mark the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
The
specially-commissioned commemorative Jubilee Mugs will be presented
to all primary school children by the Town Mayor, Cllr Ken Smout,
and the Chairman of the Town Council's Diamond Jubilee Committee,
Cllr Neville Jones, pictured.
The mugs will be presented to pupils over several days, starting
on Tuesday 29th May at 10.30am at Burnham Infants School and followed
at 1.35pm in St Andrew's Junior School.
The
presentations continue on Wednesday 30th May at 1.30pm at Churchfield
School in Highbridge and at St Josephs School on Thursday 31 May
at 1.30pm.
Cllr
Jones told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We are delighted with how
the mugs look. One side features the town crest and the other
Her Majesty - they are a super lasting momento of the Jubilee."
A
total of 1,300 mugs will be distributed in schools with a further
500 being available at other venues.
