Students to grill Burnham-On-Sea’s MP during ‘Question Time’

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP Tessa Munt will be among the politicians from the main parties being grilled by sixth form students from Highbridge’s King Alfred School this week.

The pupils will be taking part in a special version of ‘Question Time’ this Friday (15th June) when, as part of their ‘enrichment week’, the sixth formers will be preparing challenging questions.

Jonathan Gaskell, Head of Sixth Form at The King Alfred School, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The panel of representatives from the Conservative Party, Labour Party, UKIP and the Liberal Democrats will no doubt face a friendly grilling from students who are concerned about Britain’s economic future. The panel and discussion will be chaired by one of our sixth form student leaders who will attempt to do what few political journalists manage: to force politicians to actually answer the question!”

“The occasion will offer the chance for our sixth form students to engage in important issues of the day and to air their views on local, national and international issues.”

“We are living in uncertain times and the younger generation are being particularly affected. We have high expectations for our sixth form students and we have an increasing number who receive good offers from leading UK universities.”
