Incredible hand-knitted Christmas tree goes on show in West Huntspill

-

At a quick glance you might think this is a normal Christmas tree, but take a second look and you’ll notice it is a very unique piece of artwork.

Members of West Huntspill Methodist Church have created the impressive 7ft tree by stitching together pieces of colourful fabric.

The church’s Janet O’Neill told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The members have been busy knitting over 1,000 squares and over 100 decorations to create the knitted tree.”

The tree will have a life after Christmas because the squares are set to be made into blankets.

The incredible tree is on display to the public at West Huntspill Methodist Church at various times over the next few days during this week.

The church is open on Thursday 13th December from 3.30pm until 5pm, Friday 14th December from 2-5pm and Saturday 15th December from 10am until 12 noon.

There are also a selection of hand-crafted nativity scenes on display. Refreshments will also be available with a donation.
