Burnham-On-Sea
lifeboat launched to investigate 'stranded object'
One
of Burnham-On-Sea's lifeboats was launched today (Monday) to investigate
a 'stranded object' on Stert Island.
Burnham's
Puffin lifeboat was launched at 11.37am amid concern that it could
have been a liferaft.
Puffin
was launched but crews quickly identified the object as a stray
builders barrier.
"Unfortunately,
the barrier being high and dry, and filled with the usual sand
and pebbles was too heavy to move, so Swansea Coastguard control
elected to leave the object where it was for the time being, and
lifeboat crew were stood down," a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
