Burnham-On-Sea
church holds alternative Halloween party
Fun,
games, jokes and songs will all on be offer at Burnham-On-Sea
Baptist Church this Wednesday (October 31st) when a Light Party
is held for primary school-aged children.
This
is a positive alternative to Halloween, with no scary costumes
or trick or treating.
Instead,
the children will meet together to sing, play games, have some
fun and enjoy some party food.
The
event is being organised by the churchs childrens
team and will follow a similar format to their annual childrens
holiday clubs, which typically attract 70-90 children each year.
Childrens
worker Linda Ayers told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Lots of people
feel uncertain about Halloween, and dont want their children
to go trick or treating. But the kids love having a good time,
so we plan to lay on a fantastic evening for them, but full of
positive things, focussing on light instead of darkness."
Light
Party is a growing movement worldwide, and many churches are now
offering similar events.
There
are still places available at the Light Party and entry is free.
It runs from 4.30pm-6pm and doors open at 4.15pm. Contact the
church office on 01278 794057 for more information.
