Car crashes into central reservation on M5 near Burnham-On-Sea

Two fire engines were sent from Burnham-On-Sea and Weston to a single-vehicle crash on the M5 motorway on Tuesday morning (August 28th).

Crews were called to the M5 between junctions 21 and 22 just after 10.30am to a one vehicle collision in which it was initially uncertain whether people were still within the vehicle.

A fire spokesman told "On arrival, crews confirmed all persons were out of the vehicle, which had gone into the central reservation in the third lane."

Crews checked the vehicle was safe before it was recovered a short time later. The incident led to a build-up of holiday traffic on the motorway.
