Athlete
on year-long running challenge visits Burnham-On-Sea
A
runner who has set herself the challenge of taking part in competitive
races in every county of the UK in just one year has visited a
Burnham-On-Sea event this week.
Mary
Mills has run races in 63 counties over the past 12 months to
mark her 50th birthday as part of a personal challenge.
On
Thursday she took part in Burnham's 5km winter series running
race on the town's seafront. Mary
was congratulated by Burnham Swim and Sports Academy's Sara Cox
Conklin as she crossed the finishing line, as pictured.
Mary
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I wanted to mark my 50th birthday
year with a unique personal challenge and am delighted to have
completed races in 63 counties across the UK, with Somerset the
latest location. I've enjoyed it, but there has been a lot of
travelling!"
