Highbridge Medical Centre to officially open its new extension
today
Patients,
carers and staff from Highbridge Medical Centre will be celebrating
the completion of a major building project today (Tuesday, July
17th) with the official opening of a brand new extension.
As
part of the celebrations, the centre is holding an 'open house'
afternoon and is encouraging registered patients to come along
from 2pm to take a look at the new facilities.
Members
of NHS Somersets Health Promotion Team will also be present,
offering advice on everything from healthy diet and lifestyle
to health checks and diabetic eye screening, cancer awareness
and sexual health.
Practice
Manager Joanne Farnworth told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We hope
that as many patients as possible will come along and view the
new surgery extension."
"Doctors,
staff and our public health colleagues will be on hand to answer
their questions and give advice about improving diets, health
and lifestyle."
"The
new extension to the health centre means we are now able to provide
many more services to our patients."
"We
have added two treatment rooms and the overall extra space means
we can be more versatility if we need to adapt for future service
needs."
The
surgery has recently launched a Patient Participation Group (PPG)
who are already helping the surgery gather the patient views and
valuable feedback on services from its 14,000 registered patients.
Members of the PPG will be holding a pig roast and prize raffle
at the event.
