Weather warning remains in place for Burnham-On-Sea area today

A yellow weather warning is in effect today (Friday) for the whole of the south west, including the Burnham-On-Sea area, as the Met Office predicts more heavy rain is on thr way.

"Periods of heavy rain are likely across southwest England from the beginning of Friday until Saturday morning," said a spokesman.

"It is looking increasingly likely that further heavy, persistent rain will move eastwards later on Friday into the early hours of Saturday."

The public should be aware of the possibility of disruption to travel due to localised flooding.
