Burnham-On-Sea Moose Lodge has raised £3,000 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and other local charities during a fundraising weekend.
The lodge’s annual holistic weekend was hailed a successful despite being held over the Jubilee period and being threatened with poor weather.
“Visitors were up on both days compared to last year’s event, and lodge members were kept busy running the car parks and fine-tuning the weekend’s organisation,” said Burnham’s Ladies Circle President Rita Harris.
“We are so pleased with the amount raised, and everybody worked so hard. The Air Ambulance cheque will be presented at a future lodge meeting.”
Another holistic weekend is planned at Mooseheart in 2013, this time in conjunction with another more commercial event, but with a charity focus.
