NHS dementia care manager receives award
A
Burnham-On-Sea NHS manager's dedication to her dementia patients
has been praised as an outstanding example of high quality care.
Carol Prichard, Senior Manager with the Somerset Partnership NHS
Foundation Trust's Burnham Memory Assessment Service, has seen
a 20% year-on-year increase in referrals.
Carol has enabled patients and carers to have immediate access
to help and support, personally overseeing 90% of new clients
herself.
At this years Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Staff Recognition Awards, Trust Chairman Linda Nash commended
her, saying: "Carol has worked tirelessly for the memory
assessment service and it came as no surprise when the service
was assessed as 'Excellent' following a visit by the National
Accreditation Programme for the Royal College of Psychiatry."
"As
a role model for students and staff alike, Carol exemplifies the
qualities of public service with her 'can do' attitude is wrapped
in humility."
The
Burnham Memory Assessment Service offers assessment, diagnosis,
treatment and support to people suffering with dementia who live
in and around the Burnham-On-Sea area. It is based at Berrow Health
Centre in Brent Road, Berrow.
