Burnham-On-Sea
residents among 15,000 spectators at Olympic event
Four
Burnham-On-Sea were among the 15,000 strong audience at a beach
volleyball game in London this week.
Bev
and Sarah Milner Simonds joined fellow Burnham residents Jon and
Julia Walters at the beach volleyball at Horse Guards Parade on
Sunday night.
And
to bring something a bit different to the traditional flags being
flown, they took along Burnham-On-Sea Town Team flags with them!
Bev,
pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We were really lucky
to get tickets in the final waves of ticket release as seating
plans were finalised."
"The
quarter final matches were amazing - the atmosphere, the noise,
the athleticism and the tension were superb."
"The
second match between Germany and Brazil was thrilling and I was
regularly leaping up, and waving the Burnham flag to spur them
on!"
Sarah
added: "The games were such fun! I had never seen beach volleyball
before but we definitely need to bring it back Burnham - all you
need is sand and we sure have a lot of that!"
