Appeal
for witnesses after fuel theft at Burnham-On-Sea petrol station
Burnham-On-Sea
police have appealed for witnesses after a van driver stole almost
£60 of fuel during a drive-off theft at a petrol station
in the town earlier this week.
The
motorist sped off from the Esso station in Oxford Street without
paying for the fuel on Monday morning (January 30th).
"We
are interested to hear from anyone who saw a white Ford Escort
van, whose registration plates had been shielded to avoid detection,"
Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
incident - known as bilking - occurred at the height of Monday
morning's rush hour between 8.30am and 9am.
Anyone
with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
or dial the police's non-emergency number of 101.
