They're
off! Fundraising pig and donkey race nights return to Brean

This
month sees the return of Brean Leisure Park's annual pig and donkey
race nights, which will be held throughout the summer for local
charities.
The
fundraising race nights will take place in the park's arena every
Tuesday evening until August 28th.
"Pig
racing is hilarious fun for everyone, but the ones who enjoy it
most are our pigs!" organiser Mike Barsby told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"They
thrive on human contact and get very excited by the crowd, so
come along, have a flutter and cheer on your chosen pig. The louder
you cheer, the faster they run!"
"If
you've ever found horse racing to be unpredictable then you should
come and see how our donkeys behave! Children don riding hats
and are sent off with a 'good luck' at the start of their 100
yard race."
"They
need all the luck they can get because donkeys will only do what
they want to do. Weve seen them trot to within a yard of
the finishing line and then turn round and start going back!"
The
first race each Tuesday starts at 7pm and all the money raised
is shared between local good causes and charities. Entry is £2.50
with prams and pushchairs free.
