Police take 10 vehicles off the road in motoring operation
Burnham-On-Sea
Police have taken 10 vehicles off the road during a day of action
targeting motoring offenders.
Officers
targeted speeders and anti-social drivers plus motorists using
mobile phones last Friday.
Seventeen
drivers were stopped for a variety of offences, and ten dangerous
vehicles were prohibited from being used until defects are rectified.
Inspector
Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "All in all, this has
been another very successful operation to keep our roads safe
with dangerous vehicles being identified and ensuring that criminals
visiting our area wary of offending whilst visiting us."
"I
hope that our response to the issues identified by our residents
through the various community contacts we have demonstrates our
continued commitment to working within our community to make it
safer for everyone."
