Pony
rescue drama in photos: Owner thanks Burnham fire crews

These
were the dramatic scenes near Burnham-On-Sea earlier this week
when the town's fire crews were called to rescue a pony stuck
in a water-filled ditch.
The
distraught owner of the animal, Rachael Fear, could only watch
as Juniper was unable to free himself after getting stranded in
a roadside ditch in Lympsham.
As pictured here, firefighters from Burnham and Weston were called
to the scene in West Road and used lines and flotation devices
to safeguard the nine year-old pony.
The
animal was then hauled free by the crews using ropes, much to
the relief of Rachael.
"I
am so incredibly grateful for the help of the fire crews in carrying
out this rescue and am so relieved that it ended happily for Juniper,"
she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
