Police investigate daylight robbery at post office near Burnham

Police
have begun an investigation following a daylight robbery at a
post office near Burnham-On-Sea on Friday (July 13th) - the second
this year.
Two
men entered Lympsham Post Office and demanded cash from staff
before fleeing with an unknown quantity of cash.
Police
were called to the scene in Lympsham Road soon after 2.30pm, as
pictrured here, and they sealed off the area for several hours
while their investigations began.
Police
spokeswoman Cath Foster told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I can confirm
there was a robbery at the post office in which two men entered
the premises, demanded money and made off in a vehicle."
She
added that nobody was hurt in the incident, although the staff
were understandably shaken by the incident - which is the second
this year.
It
is the second time the post office has been raided this year.
A previous incident occurred in February, which we reported here.
Police
have appealed for anyone with information about either incident
to get in touch with them via the non-emergency number 101.
