Burglars smash their way into village post office through roof

Burglars smashed their way into a village post office near Burnham-On-Sea in the early hours of Tuesday (February 21st) by making a hole in the building's roof.

Burnham-On-Sea police were called to Lympsham Post Office at 3.30am following the night-time raid.

Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe told "Police are investigating a burglary which took place at the post office at 3.30am on Tuesday."

"Some damage was caused to the building. Our investigations are ongoing and it is too early to say what was taken at this stage."

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch via the non-emergency number 101.
