Power cut to over 100 homes as line is damaged near Burnham

More than 100 people were without power near Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (April 19th) after an overhead electricity line was cut.

Police from Burnham were called to Pound Road in Pawlett after a passing vehicle struck the line at around 2.30pm.

Western Power Distribution was called to the scene to restore the supplies, as pictured.

Spokeswoman Tracy Carr told "A total of 113 customers were without power for up to several hours while our teams dealt with the incident."

She apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused.
