New
box office and cafe to open at Burnham's Princess Theatre
Burnham-On-Sea's
Princess Theatre and Arts Centre is opening a brand new box office
facility and cafe this week.
The
new box office launches this Wednesday (February 1st) to help
the public with booking tickets.
The
facility will be open from 10am-3pm a few days a week with the
intention of increasing the number of days as extra volunteers
become available.
Running
alongside the Box Office will be the new Princess Café,
which aims to encourage more people to access the building regularly.
Offering tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes, it will provide a
friendly and relaxed atmosphere where people can find out more
about events and shows at the theatre.
Princess Manager Andy Pulleyn, pictured above, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"With many events planned for the year ahead easy access
to tickets is a priority. Therefore, we are delighted to announce
the Princess Box Office, which will offer people the chance to
buy tickets here at the Princess, online or over the phone. In
time, we hope to be open most weekdays and possibly Saturdays
depending on the availability of our volunteers."
The
box office will sell tickets for events being organised by The
Princess as well as shows being put on by local groups.
Andy
added: "We are keen to sell tickets for all the events taking
place here and hope that groups putting on shows will see the
benefits of offering tickets from one central point in Burnham-On-Sea."
"We
are also happy to sell tickets for community events not hosted
at the Princess as we believe this is a service that can benefit
all local arts groups no matter where their event is taking place."
He
added: "With the new Box Office and café in place,
The Princess is eager to find new volunteers who can offer their
time to help. While already having a strong core of dedicated
and generous volunteers, the new Box Office will mean more support
is needed. Training is available and in return for people's time
is the opportunity to support the local arts community while enjoying
a friendly and sociable environment."
The
new box office number is 01278 784464 and the website can be visited
