Residents
in Highbridge marked Remembrance Day with a parade through the
town followed by a service at St John's Church and a wreath-laying
ceremony at the town's war memorial.
Highbridge
Mayor Ken Smout and Sedgemoor District Council Chairman Gill Slocombe,
right, were among the dignitaries who took part in the special
event.
The
service was led by Reverend Sharon Crossman, vicar of St John's,
and was preceded by a procession of over 100 people from the Bank
Street Car Park.
Among
the groups laying wreaths were Highbridge Scouts, Brownies and
Cubs plus local Army and Sea cadets.
40
St John Ambulance Cadets and Badgers also paraded through the
town.
Members
of the town's police force, town council, Lions Club and Royal
British Legion also paid their respects.
