Volunteers at Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat station will be holding their annual fundraising car wash today (Saturday, 28th January) and Saturday 4th February.

Each car will be carefully soaped using professional car wash chemicals and cleaning materials, before being rinsed to achieve a perfect finish.

Payment will be by donation during the fundraiser, which will be held at the lifeboat station in Pier Street each day from 10am-2pm.

The event will be held as part of the RNLI’s national fundraising day when schools, businesses and families will be holding fundraising events that follow an SOS theme, such as ‘Sizzle our Sausages’ and ‘See Our Stamina’.

This year, the Burnham volunteers will be raising money to help upgrade the station’s lifejackets. The existing lifejackets, although effective, are scheduled for eventual replacement, and the RNLI have developed a high-performance lifejacket offering, amongst other things, improved mobility.
