One
is not amused! Queen comes second at local scarecrow festival

A
royal visitor turned plenty of heads in a village near Burnham-On-Sea
at the weekend.
Motorists
driving through Brent Knoll were forgiven for taking a double-take
when they caught a glimpse of what appeared to be The Queen standing
beside the road, as pictured here.
In
fact, 'Her Majesty' was one of dozens of life-size characters
on show during the village's first celebrity scarecrow festival!
More
than 50 scarecrows featuring the Royal family and well-known stars
from film and sports were installed alongside roads through the
village.
Co-organiser
Kate Sutton told Burnham-On-Sea.com that fun-loving residents,
clubs and school pupils had really got behind the event.
"It
has been well supported and everyone has had a lot of fun creating
celebrity entries under the theme 'Great British People'."
"The
entries have been fantastic - they've ranged from The Olympics
and Royalty to James Bond!"
"The
life-size version of The Queen, created by Andrea Dyte, was superb
but she came second overall after an entry featuring Horatio Nelson
and his ship created by Peter and Tina Osborn which was the overall
winner."
She
added: "We've had lots of positive feedback and hope to hold
a second event in the future."
All
proceeds went to Girl Guiding Brent Knoll in support of members
going on International trips to Belgium and Mexico in 2013.
