windfall for council homes in Burnham-On-Sea area
tenants in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge are set to benefit from
a multi-million pound cash injection announced on Monday (September
Homes in Sedgemoor and Sedgemoor District Council have received
confirmation that they have been awarded the final £13 million
of 'Decent Homes Funding' from the national housing and regeneration
agency, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

tenants will now have their homes improved over the next two years
as part of the ongoing Decent Homes Programme. Tenants will get
warmer homes with modern facilities that will be easier and cheaper
Decent Homes Programme represents a huge investment into the Sedgemoor
area over the course of the period and will continue to provide
much needed jobs and apprenticeships for local people.

now all get the much needed improvements to their homes."
Rickards, Chief Executive of SDC, added: "The management
of Sedgemoor's council housing by Homes in Sedgemoor has really
come a long way in the past few years. This is clearly recognised
by Government and their faith in Homes in Sedgemoor has been evidenced
by this further £13 million funding into the Decent Homes
Chris Moseley, Chair of the Sedgemoor Tenants Voice, said: "This
is great news for tenants and Homes in Sedgemoor. We are now able
to complete our Decent Homes Programme for tenants and this is
of Sedgemoor District Council, Duncan McGinty, added: "It
is really good news for our residents and means that the second
half of the programme to upgrade council housing in Sedgemoor
can forge ahead."
