Vintage vehicle show near Burnham-On-Sea cancelled due to flooding

The
annual Sedgemoor Vintage Vehicle Show, which was due to take place
this weekend on the outskirts of Highbridge, has been cancelled
due to flooding caused by heavy rain.
Dozens
of vintage tractors, classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and stationary
engines were to go on display at Isleport Farm on Saturday and
Sunday.
But,
as pictured here, the fields turned into a quagmire this morning
(Saturday) following hours of rainfall, leading to the cancellation
of the popular event.
Some
of the vintage tractors were pressed into action to tow out stuck
vehicles from the fields.
One
of the organisers, Anne Roper, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this morning
(Saturday): "Sadly we have had to cancel the whole event
- the fields are under three feet of water in several parts."
"Up
until 5.30pm last night it was all looking good but then we had
heavy overnight rain and the land is sadly too wet for us to go
ahead."
