Two men arrested following sexual assault in Burnham-On-Sea

Police have arrested two people following a sexual assault in Burnham-On-Sea last week.

Officers were called to Burnham's Frank Foley Parkway at 2.30pm on Thursday (June 28th) after a woman was attacked by an Asian man aged between 20 and 30 and of a stocky build.

The man approached her, engaged her into conversation and then sexually assaulted her.

A Burnham police spokesman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com on Tuesday: "Two men have been arrested in relation to the sexual assault last week and are on police bail."

Police believe a second sexual assault which took place on the same day in Bridgwater could be linked.

The incident happened at 5.50pm in Chedzoy Lane, Bridgwater. The woman was approached by a man of similar description. In that incident the man asked the woman to get into his car. When declined, he grabbed her and sexually assaulted.
