Two
men arrested following sexual assault in Burnham-On-Sea
Police
have arrested two people following a sexual assault in Burnham-On-Sea
last week.
Officers were called to Burnham's Frank Foley Parkway at 2.30pm
on Thursday (June 28th) after a woman was attacked by an Asian
man aged between 20 and 30 and of a stocky build.
The
man approached her, engaged her into conversation and then sexually
assaulted her.
A
Burnham police spokesman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com on Tuesday:
"Two men have been arrested in relation to the sexual assault
last week and are on police bail."
Police
believe a second sexual assault which took place on the same day
in Bridgwater could be linked.
The
incident happened at 5.50pm in Chedzoy Lane, Bridgwater. The woman
was approached by a man of similar description. In that incident
the man asked the woman to get into his car. When declined, he
grabbed her and sexually assaulted.
"Anyone
with information is asked to call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers
on 0800 555 111. We never ask your name or trace your call."
