Eyes
to the skies! High-flying thrills for Burnham-On-Sea air cadet

A
youngster from Burnham-On-Sea's air cadets squadron has described
the 'amazing experience' of her first aerobatic training flight.
Shona
Nicol, who is a cadet at Burnham and Highbridge's 290 Detached
Flight Squadron, took to the skies for the first time this week
in the RAFs primary training aircraft at Colerne airfield
near Bath.
Shona
experienced the thrill of aerobatics and learnt the basics of
aircraft piloting during her 30-minute flight.
She
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This was an amazing experience.
I got to fly the plane and go upside down - something Ive
never done before. I can't wait for the next time."
The
cadets have the opportunity three times a year to go powered flying
as well take up the opportunity to go on gliding days and courses.
The
squadron meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30pm-9.45 in Burnham.
