Charity ‘feeling in the pink’ after Berrow fundraising shopping event

-

Burnham’s MP and Mayor were among a crowd of people who attended a special shopping event in Berrow on Sunday (April 22nd), which was held to raise funds for a local cancer charity.

A stream of visitors supported the ‘Shop For A Cure’ event, held in Berrow Village Hall, in aid of Somerset Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, opened the event and MP Tessa Munt also popped in during the day.

“It was a very successful and busy day and we thank everyone who attended and supported it,” Christine Piper, chair of the group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We are delighted with how it went and hope to have raised a good amount for the charity.”

Over 20 stalls sold an assortment of items, ranging from jewellery and clothing to flowers, refreshments, pottery and handmade soaps. Entertainment included inflatables for children plus a visit by ‘Swish’, a colourful clown.
