The winners of Burnham-On-Sea’s annual shop window competition were announced on Thursday (April 18th), after more than 130 entered this year.

The annual ‘Spot the Odd Item in the Shop Window Competition’, run by Burnham’s Chamber of Trade, ran for a fortnight over the Easter holiday period.

26 businesses took part this year, with shoppers challenged to find hidden items in windows to be in with a chance of winning a £100 top prize or runners-up prizes.

Rhonda Mills, Chairman of Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade and Commerce, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We would like to thank all the participants for their entries in the competition and hope everyone enjoyed taking part over the Easter holidays. There were 132 entries by families and individuals trying to guess the 26 tricky odd items hidden in the shop windows and on Burnham-On-Sea.com.”

After much deliberation and final checking of the results, the Chamber said the winning entry was from George Wallin, age 9 and Edward Wallin, 6.

First runner-up was Ethan Smith, 4, and his nan while second runner-up was Chloe Cooper.

Extra prizes go to the two people with the most imaginative answer, both with only one odd item incorrect. They were Zoe Warner-Deards and Brian Pincombe.

The Chamber of Trade congrtatulated the winners and said it hopes to run a further shop window competition during June’s Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
