Young singers are on song as they scoop silver medals at festival!

-

Four local singers from the Burnham-based Siobhan Johnson Singers who sang at the Highbridge Festival of the Arts all won silver medals.

For three of them it was their first time performing at the festival and three of them gained “distinctions” with their marks. All four also received outstanding feedback from the adjudicator.

“I am incredibly proud of them as the competition was extremely high in all categories,” piano and singing teacher Siobhan Johnson told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“This achievement, for all singers, was gained in under eight weeks’ worth of training from me.”

The soloists were Milly Smith, 8, who sang “My Favourite Things” from The Sound of Music, Kaitlin Jarvis, 10, who sang “Who Will Buy” from Oliver and Tom Llywarch, 13, who electrified the audience by singing “Electricity” from Billy Elliott.

Matt Perry and Kaitlin Jarvis won their medal by singing in harmony with a beautiful duet arranged by Siobhan.
