Calm weather leads to build up of 'smog' over Somerset

Calm
weather conditions led to a thick brown smog building up in the
skies over the Burnham-On-Sea area on Tuesday evening (July 24th).
The lack of wind and hot summer temperatures
caused the thick brown haze to form, creating these unusual sunset
scenes.
The
smog was also visible over the South Wales coastline, stretching
for several miles around the Bristol Channel.
Temperatures
in Burnham reached a high of 27.9 Centigrade (82 Fahrenheit) on
Tuesday on the warmest day of the current hot spell - see the
forecast here.
