Met
Office warns of possible snowfall in Burnham-On-Sea today
Motorists
in the Burnham-On-Sea area have been warned to expect icy road
conditions today (Saturday) following temperatures of around -6°C
overnight and several
centimetres of snowfall possible later today.
A
Met Office amber warning remains in place for potential snowfall
and sleet this afternoon which may turn to rain later in the day.
The
Met Office warns: "A band of snow is expected to move slowly
across England and Wales during Saturday afternoon and evening.
Accumulations of snow of around 5cm are likely in places."
"The
public are advised that some travel disruption may result. Snow
is like to turn to sleet then rain later on Saturday."
Key
routes in and out of Burnham and Highbridge are being gritted
by Somerset County Council as a precaution this weekend.
