Relief Mile fun run to be held in Burnham-On-Sea this March
in Burnham-On-Sea are being encouraged to enter the Sainsbury's
Sport Relief Mile in the town on Sunday 25th March.
As one of the UK's biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings
the entire nation together to get active and raise cash for good
The Burnham-On-Sea event will be a joint venture between Burnham-on-Sea
Harriers and King Alfred Sports Centre with the event's HQ being
provided by Haven's Burnham Holiday Park.
Entrants don't have to be sporty to take part, but can choose
to complete one, three or six mile circuits.
After a warm-up session of zumba, the run will set off from The
South Esplanade, passing along the cycle track, taking in the
sights of the River Brue.
In addition to the runs being managed by Burnham-on-Sea Harriers,
King Alfred Sports Centre will be providing a bouncy castle (weather
permitting), health checks and mile challenges on rowing machines
and bikes. There will also be the opportunity to try African drumming
with 'Fun 2 Drum'.
Brian Beale from Burnham Harriers and Penny Cook from 1610, joint
organisers, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This is the first Sainsbury's
Sport Relief Mile to be held in Burnham-On-Sea and it's set to
be a great event. So come on, pull your Sport Relief socks up,
enter the mile and do something amazing! From teeny-tots with
their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock there
will be something for everyone on the big day."
The Sport Relief Weekend kicks off on Friday 23rd March when
fundraising activities are held across the UK and featured on
