65mph gales give Burnham-On-Sea's seafront a battering
Gale-force winds gusting up to 65mph gave Burnham-On-Sea
a battering on Friday (June 8th).
waves struck Burnham's sea wall at the height of the morning's

by Weston's lifeboats after getting into trouble in the gales.
Two lifeboats reached the stranded windsurfer and an RNLI spokesman
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The casualty was picked up, cold
and tired, but otherwise uninjured. He was taken ashore at Uphill
boatyard where he was handed over to the care of the Coastguard.
He was not taken to hospital."
