Weather forecasters have warned residents in the Burnham-On-Sea area to expect more heavy rain and potentially damaging winds today (Wednesday).

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for the area as a band of heavy rain moves north across the region with gale-force winds.

“The rain will be accompanied by strong and gusty southeasterly winds. The public should be aware that heavy rain may lead to localised surface water flooding and poor driving conditions,” it warned, adding that winds may gust over 50mph.
