Burnham-On-Sea
swimmers make a splash at regional gala
Burnham-On-Sea Swimming Club made a splash when their members
took part in a regional contest at a new Olympic-sized pool this
week.
The
club had an invitation from Bristol Penguin Olympic Swimming Club
to attend a relay gala at the new 50m swimming pool at Hengrove
Park Leisure Centre.
44
swimmers from Burnham, plus a group of officials and parents travelled
by coach to the event, which was the first gala to be held there.
"It
was a great experience for the swimmers, especially the eight,
nine and ten year olds. The fourteen and under boys excelled in
all the strokes and had first places in all their relays,"
the club's David Pusill told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The
final results were Bristol Penguins A 300, Burnham
280, Norton Radstock 275, Bishopsworth 262, Wells & Shepton
Mallett 255 and Bristol Penguins B 161.
