Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club to hold fundraising swimatharon

-

Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club seeking volunteers to take part in a fundraising swimming event in February.

The Swimarathon is being staged at Brean Splash on Sunday February 5th, starting at 9am, with the proceeds going to South West Childrens Hospice and local charities, including Burnham Dreamscheme.

Brean Leisure Park has donated its pool and staff for the day and will act as the event’s main sponsor.

Teams of up to eight swimmers are being sought to swim in relays (not as a race) to raise as much money from their sponors.

All teams taking part will have a swim time of up to 45 minutes, but this may be less according to their capability and age.

Organiser Jim Tancock explained to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Those taking part will retain 45% of their money for their own designated charity or cause, so this is an opportunity to get your school, club, business organisation, or your family involved.”

For more details or to join in, contact Jim Tancock on 01278 786814, mentioning Burnham-On-Sea.com, or email him here.
