Burnham Town Team's consultation underway on £300k Tesco
boost

Burnham-On-Sea
Town Team's consultation with residents, businesses and councillors
is underway this week on how £300,000 of Tesco funding should
be spent in the town centre.
The
Town Team has been asked to gather ideas and feedback from businesses,
residents, landlords and community groups to help form the Town
Council's report back to Sedgemoor District Council on possible
uses for the 'Section 106 funding' that the district council has
received from Tesco, as recently reported here.
Town
Team member Bev Milner Simonds, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"It is great to hear from people what they would like to
see happen on and around the High Street and our meeting, together
with the online survey and face-to-face discussions we had over
the weekend with traders, will all build into our final recommendations
to the Town Council next week."
Bev
added: "As we are about to submit our second bid to be a
Portas Pilot Town this kind of feedback is an invaluable follow
up to the extensive survey work we did in March."
Those
who haven't yet filled out a form - which comprises of five short
questions and takes a couple of minutes to complete - can download
the questionnaire here
and
email responses back to bostownteam@gmail.com or print it out
and drop it back to Home Hardware on Burnham High Street.
