Burnham-On-Sea
MP scales the heights of church to raise funds!
Burnham-On-Sea's
MP showed she has a head for heights when she abseiled down the
outside of a local church to help it raise funds at the weekend.
Tessa
Munt abseiled from the top of Priddy Church's tower on Sunday
(August 12th) before taking a zip wire ride.
It
is hoped that the event, which was held in aid of church repairs,
has raised several hundred pounds for the building.
Tessa
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This is a fun way to raise a little
money for a local cause and I wish Priddy Church all the best
with their fundraising efforts."
"I
abseiled down Cheddar Gorge last year, which was fantastic. The
view from the top of Priddy Church tower was also spectacular."
The
Grade I listed church dates from the 13th century, with some rebuilding
in the 15th century. It was restored in 188188.
