Cash
boost for new Burnham and Highbridge Youth Theatre group

A
new youth theatre group which has launched in Burnham-On-Sea this
week has been given a cash boost.
Burnham-On-Sea
and Highbridge (BOSH) Youth Theatre is being run at Burnham's
Princess Theatre.
A
launch day was held on Tuesday (14th August) when more than a
dozen children from the two towns attended.
A
cheque for £200 was presented to the group by the Burnham
and Highbridge Diamond Jubilee Youth Trust, a new community fund
set up earlier this year by volunteers in the two towns to help
local youth groups.
The
trust's members handed over the cheque during Tuesday's launch,
watched by the group's young members.
Burnham
and Highbridge Mayor Ken Smout also cut a cake to mark the occasion,
as pictured.
BOSH
Youth Theatre aims to help young people enjoy drama, build confidence
and improve their communication skills.
Youth
theatre members will be able to take part in a main production,
a showcase and a new arts award qualification.
A
highly trained and experienced team who are passionate about drama
and young people will lead the course.
Enrolment
and expressions of interest are being sought with the first year
of the course, which is due to begin in October. For details,
call 793099 or email here.
