Burnham-On-Sea's
University Of The Third Age celebrated two milestones this week
- its 1,000th coffee morning and its 20th anniversary year.
Dozens of members of the popular group attended the twin celebration
at the town's Community Centre in Berrow Road, as pictured here.
Burnham
U3A President Ken Hindle cut a ceremonial cake, watched by a crowd
of onlookers, before Burnham's Mayor Ken Smout presented the group
with a community award in recognition of its long-running work.
Mr
Hindle told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The U3A is well-embedded
in the town and has grown to over 600 members during the past
two decades. It is a well-loved group that plays a big part of
many people's lives in Burnham."
