Free
Internet taster sessions at Burnham's BAY Centre this Friday
Scores
of people will be able to take their first steps on the Internet
during a special event in Burnham-On-Sea this Friday (October
19th).
Burnham's
BAY Centre in Cassis Close is one of hundreds of UKonline locations
across the UK taking part in an initiative to promote Internet
use.
The
centre's expert volunteers will be on hand from 10am-3.30pm to
help visitors.
Spokesman
Mike Lang told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "No appointments are necessary,
so just pop in for your first Internet experience. The BAY Centre
is a designated UK Online centre so whether you want email, internet
shopping, or just want to keep up with news online, our team of
volunteers are here to help."
While
Burnhams main library is closed during October, members
of the public are also reminded that there is a public access
computer available for daytime free use in the entrance lobby
of the Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close. Whilst the centre
is not always open, users are requested to be sympathetic to scheduled
groups using the building.
